ACCCT

Minnesota is a member of a non-profit, joint venture industry group called the American Cooperative Council on Compensation Technology (ACCCT). It was created to co-develop technology products needed by workers’ compensation statistical and rating bureaus. This joint development is resulting in cost savings, development efficiencies and intellectual sharing. Linda Hanson is the managing partner of this venture and takes a leading role in its ongoing activities.

The development of an integrated client server database is a continuing project under ACCCT auspices. Wisconsin, North Carolina and Minnesota organizations are sharing knowledge, costs and technology to jointly share in a core database. The unit statistical reporting expansion (ASWG) was developed under the ACCCT umbrella and is operating in both Minnesota and North Carolina and is being tested in Wisconsin. Experience rating functions and the tracking of unit statistical information has been developed jointly and is in production in North Carolina and being tested in Wisconsin. The remainder of the systems such as policy information collection and assigned risk processing will be the project for 1998. Substantial employee resources are utilized in the planning, specification and testing stages in cooperation with our outside development consultant.

The BEEP software package was an ACCCT product.
Version 1.5 will be released in 1998.

ACCCT jointly developed a PC software product to assist carriers in the reporting of unit statistical information to bureaus and rating organizations. This was developed jointly by California, Delaware, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin Bureaus. The product is called BEEP (Bureau Entry and Edit Package) and was distributed free to all member carriers in June, 1997. This product is intended to be a living product with future releases anticipated to accommodate enhanced features and new requirements. This product has been well received in the insurance carrier community.
